Coroner's Office
The Beaver County Coroner’s Office and the Beaver County Behavioral Health SCA have teamed up with the Allegheny Medical Examiner’s office and the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy to bring residents of Beaver County the following website: Overdosefreepa.org. Funded by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD), the website is based at the pharmacy school’s Program Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU).
This site will give you all the data of Beaver County deaths from 2012 to 2015 related to drug overdoses. 2016 data will be posted soon and will be updated twice a month.
The primary duty of the coroner is to determine the cause and manner of death of sudden and/or unexplained deaths, including all homicides, suicides, accidental, and some natural deaths. Other functions of this office include, positively identifying unidentified human remains, managing unclaimed human remains, conducting coroner’s inquests, maintaining death records, issuing death certificates on the coroner’s findings, responding to mass disasters, and reviewing all cases that occur in the County which are to be cremated.
